Good evening Poston Families,
We hope this message finds you and your family well. As you prepare for the first day of school, we would like to share some helpful information that may answer some questions for the beginning of the school year. We are here to help you in any way we can. Thank you for your continued support as we start the school year.
Safety Protocols
Front Office
School Year Operating Office hours; M,T,Th,F 8:30am-4:30pm, Wed 8:30am-2:30pm
MPS requires that we lock the front office doors. Please ring the doorbell and we will open the door at our earliest convenience. This is a change for all of us, please plan accordingly.
Items/school supplies for students may be dropped off in the front office.
Parents are allowed to bring food for their child only. We do not accept outside food deliveries from restaurants, fast food locations, Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc.
Campus Entry
Campus opens at 8:45 a.m. All students must be dropped off on-campus in the South Parking Lot or off-campus on 25th Street or Adobe Street.
Schedules
Please have your child re-check their schedule prior to coming to school as some schedules have changed.
If a schedule change was put in for your child and the change hasn’t been made yet, please tell your child to follow the current schedule that they have and they will be notified once the schedule change has been made. All students will receive an updated paper copy of their schedule, their ID, and devices on the first day.
Lunches
Lunch time can be fun but stressful the first few days of school while students new to Poston learn how to navigate the lunch area. We encourage students to bring lunch from home if possible so that they don’t have to wait in line the first few days of school. If your student plans on buying lunch from school, make sure that they have their ID number, money, and report directly to the lunch lines. Even if the lines look long, our amazing cafeteria staff serves our students pretty quickly. Our team will make sure they eat.
Remember that lunch period assignments are based off of a student’s 4th or 5th hour classes, not grade level. Important Resources
