  • Reminder: unless otherwise arranged with the teacher, students should plan on staying for the entire concert.

Clear Bag Policy

As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors, we are introducing a new clear bag protocol for public events held at Mesa Public Schools school campuses. This protocol will be effective starting August 21, 2023 and will be applicable at public gatherings such as athletic events, performing arts concerts, and school carnivals/festivals.

Approved Bags: Attendees are encouraged to bring only clear bags made of transparent PVC, plastic, or vinyl material and small clutches of any material that are no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches. These bags will allow our security personnel to quickly inspect contents, minimizing delays during entry. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags are also permitted.

Bag Dimensions: Clear bags should not exceed 12 inches height, 6 inches width, and 12 inches depth. Clutches must not exceed 4.5 x 6.5 inches in size.

Non-Approved Bags: For the safety and comfort of all attendees, the following items are prohibited: backpacks, large purses, diaper bags, binoculars case, mesh bags, fanny packs, camera bags, oversized tote bags, tinted colored or pattern plastic bags, and drawstring bags.

Medical bags are permitted but subject to an inspection. Diaper bags are not considered medical bags.

Student Device Responsibilities

As a reminder, students are responsible for the condition of their school issued laptop and charger.  Students should be completely turning off their computer and charging it overnight.  If you haven’t already done so, you can purchase a device protection plan for the laptop. At this point, the plan will only cover the current condition of the device and will require an inspection prior to approval for the plan.

1st Quarter PAWS Party

The first quarter is coming to an end and to celebrate the hard work of students, we will hold our first PAWS Party.  Students must be eligible to attend.  In order to be eligible, students must be passing all of their classes by Wednesday, Oct 4th by 4pm.  They also cannot have any office referrals.  Students may appeal the decision by picking up an appeal form from the front office and submit it to Mrs. Hassan by Monday, October 2nd.

We will hold only one party for all eligible students from 12:30 pm to 2 pm (instead of two parties as in previous years).

We are looking for Parent Volunteers and donations.  Please check out the sign up genius for this event. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050845A4AB23A3F85-44501966-paws

Delivery and drop off of items for students.

We recognize that there may be times when parents need to drop off items for students.  We ask that parents plan on dropping off the item, labeling it, and logging it in on the log form.  Students are responsible for checking with the front office to pick up their item.  Due to the many tasks that the front office must do in a given day, they are not available to call students out immediately to pick up their items.

We also ask that items being dropped off be limited to school essential items, money for lunch, or lunch for your student.  Please refrain from having food delivered by a delivery service, items to celebrate birthdays or other special occasions, or food for multiple students.  We are unable to provide delivery of such items.  Please refer to the student handbook found in the PAWS planner for more information regarding student deliveries.
