Poston Visual Arts – Huge shout out to Mr. Crawford’s Art students.  Poston submitted 50 original, student created, works of art to this year’s MPS Young at Art Art Show.  Poston had 27 winners…the largest showing from any other Mesa junior high. Poston Athletics – our 4th Quarter season is shaping up well.  We have games again this week.  Check the calendar for this week’s games.  As the end of the year is quickly approaching, all athletes from this year are asked to make sure that they have turned in their uniforms.  We have several 3rd Quarter uniforms that have not been returned.  Emails will be going out informing those who have outstanding uniforms in their possession. 

Poston Parent Network (PPN) The PPN is looking for parent help and officers for next year’s committee.  If you are interested in helping next year, please fill out an interest form at the following link. PPN Interest Form

Pool Party - Friendly reminder about the Poston Junior High pool party event coming up on Friday April 28th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. 

Your students and their friends can come swim and enjoy celebrating the end of academic year at Poston. 

PLACE: STAPLEY JUNIOR HIGH POOL 3250 E Hermosa Vista Dr, Mesa, AZ 85213

All pool tickets MUST be pre-purchased. Due to the rental facility rules PPN cannot exchange money at the site.

COST: $5.00 for entrance fee OR $10.00 for entrance plus 2 slices of pizza, & 1 drink (soda/water)  

 CASH PAYMENT: There will be a form at the front office at Poston Junior High for students or parents who want to pay cash. Please note exact cash only- we will not have a way to give change.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR – Poston “Create” parent information meetings- Next week we will hold parent information meetings regarding Poston Create.  Parents and students can come and learn about this new learning experience being offered next year.  For scheduling purposes, we are holding three different meetings to fit your schedule.  These meetings will be held in the Poston Media Center from 6-7pm on the following dates:

  • Tues 4/25
  • Wed 4/26
  • Thur 4/27

These meetings are open to all parents and students of 2023-2024 7th and 8th graders.  If you would like to learn more about Poston Create prior to the meeting, visit the link under the “Programs” portion of our website https://poston.mpsaz.org/.

Parent Pick up and Drop off – Please continue to use the south parking lot or 25th and Adobe for student pick up or drop off.  The north parking lot is reserved for staff parking and for public who needs to speak to front office.

As a reminder, campus does not open until 8:45am and supervision is not provided for students prior to that time.  Students on campus before 8:45 without an appointment with a teacher, involved in a club or sport, will be asked to leave.

Registration for 2023-2024 – Its that time of year for registration for next year.  Make sure to complete your online re-enrollment through the parent portal for next school year.  Also let your friends know that if they would like to choose Poston for their student, they can complete that process in the parent portal.  If they don’t have a portal, they can stop by our office for assistance.
