Poston NAL (National Academic League) is “killin it”! They had their 4th strait win over Franklin Jr High.  They are halfway through their season and doing a fantastic job.  Come support them as they take on Stapley Jr. High on Tuesday 1/31 in the Poston Media Center.

3rd Quarter Sports Competition started last Thursday for Volleyball and Football and Cross Country had their second meet last week.  All our teams are off to a great start.  As a reminder, games begin at 5pm.

On another note, the district is running into a Referee shortage.  Each school is responsible to find their own referees for home games. If you are interested in helping us out, please email Mrs. Hassan, our Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at rnhassan@mpsaz.org.  Each official will be paid per game.  We understand how important these competitions are for our players and we are working to do all we can to prevent cancellations.

Team Pictures are on Monday, January 30th after school.  Please help remind your athlete to have their complete uniform for pictures.  We want them looking smart for our athletic wall.

New Website – Have you checked it out? We are working to update information.  Our calendar is live and a great source of information for events that are taking place with the school. Check it out at https://poston.mpsaz.org

Registration for 2023-2024 – Its that time of year for registration for next year.  Make sure to complete your online re-enrollment through the parent portal for next school year.  Also let your friends know that if they would like to choose Poston for their student, they can complete that process in the parent portal.  If they don’t have a portal, they can stop by our office for assistance.

Poston Create – We are excited to launch our pilot year of Poston Create.  This education model will pull students from both grade levels to work in teams for their Social Studies, Language Arts, and Science classes.  These teams will be facilitated by teachers from each of these disciplines. In this environment, students will work with teachers to create their learning and understanding of the crucial elements of Science and Social Studies utilizing Language Arts and Arts Integration skills.  This will create a deeper and personalized understanding of essential skills and knowledge in an interdisciplinary approach.  If you would like to learn more about Poston Create, visit the link under the “Programs” portion of our website https://poston.mpsaz.org/.  After you visit our Poston Create page, if you have questions, call 480-472-2130 to schedule an in person or phone conversation with Mr. Rapier, he would love to explain. If you’ve heard about Mountain View’s FASTteams, then learn about the junior high version at Poston Create!

Yearbooks – Yearbooks are on sale via the bookstore or online. They can be purchased for $30.  NOTE:  Yearbooks will be delivered to students the last week of school.
